CarTest is a tool application designed to measure the acceleration performance of cars and motorcycles. The app enables users to easily determine metrics such as 0-60 mph and 0-1/4 mile times. Its utility extends beyond assessing full-throttle capabilities, providing valuable insights into typical acceleration patterns for safe driving on public roads. It is strongly recommended to prioritize safety and adhere to all legal requirements when utilizing CarTest.

How to Use:

  1. Secure your iPhone or iPad (equipped with GPS) with CarTest installed onto the dashboard of your car to prevent movement. For motorcycles, affix the device to the handlebar or fuel tank.
  2. Initiate the measurement by tapping the Start button (or Start/Repeat button), ensuring that the device displays the appropriate status messages based on whether the vehicle is stationary or in motion.
  3. Once the device indicates "Ready," begin acceleration at your discretion. Auditory cues will accompany on-screen prompts, and the display will change to a green interface during measurement.
  4. If deceleration occurs during the test, the measurement will cease, and "Finished" will be presented.
  5. For repeated measurements, utilize the Start/Repeat function, particularly beneficial in urban environments characterized by frequent stops.

Button Functions:

  • Stop: Terminates the ongoing measurement instantly.
  • Start: Executes a single measurement cycle.
  • Start Repeat: Facilitates consecutive measurements for enhanced analysis.
  • Share: Prompts a window for sharing recorded results.

Measurement Range:

The app supports speed readings in various formats, ranging from incremental values to unlimited speeds across specified distances.

Larger Speed Display:

User control over displaying speed information provides enhanced flexibility and visibility.

Sensitivity Settings:

The app incorporates a sensitivity adjustment feature to fine-tune start sensing capabilities, enhancing accuracy and responsiveness based on individual preferences.

Note:

  • The app retains up to 1000 historical measurements even after closing CarTest.
  • Reinstalling CarTest will result in the loss of stored measurement data.
  • The application is compatible with dark mode and is free from advertisements.
  • Compatibility is limited to iPads with GPS functionality; operation may be impacted by weak GPS signals.
  • The developer bears no responsibility for accidents, violations, losses, or claims resulting from app usage.
